Accommodation

In many ways the eye functions rather like a camera and accommodation refers to the ability to see well close up as well as in the distance.

Loss of accommodation is also called presbyopia. This is a bit like losing the ' zoom' function on a camera.

People over the age of 45 ( and sometimes

earlier) who may previously have had

good vision, find they need

spectacles to read small print. This is

the onset of presbyopia or loss of

accommodation
